Coming up this Year...

The Wellbeing Project has an exciting calendar of events and activities lined up for 2012.

Here is a list of just some of the acitivities we have planned. Keep checking our website as more information will follow shortly.

Speak Out Against Stigma

We will be continuing with our anti-stigma campaign 'Speak Out Against Stigma' throughout 2012. Come along to one of our anti-stigma roadshows to learn first hand about ways you can tackle mental health stigma in your community.

Social Prescribing Programme

Social prescribing is about linking people up with non-medical sources of support within the community that people may enjoy and benefit from. We will be delivering a comprehensive programme of social prescribing activities throughout 2012. Things to look out for include:

  • Zumba Your Way to Wellbeing - an 8 week Zumba programme
  • Wellbeing Poetry Group - delivered by local poet Nigel Blakeburn
  • Wellbeing Community Choir - come along and have a sing song and feel good
  • Wellbeing Network - a fortnightly network promoting wellbeing issues.
  • Stitch in Time - a sewing and craft group
  • Life Skills Training - based on problem solving, goal setting and planning for the future.

And much more!

Ignite Your Life!

We will be delivering our award winning 'Ignite Your Life' Community Resilience Programme during the year. Come along for a half day event full of laughter and fun and learn about some simple, practical things we can all do to improve our own and other people's mental wellbeing.
