Alternative Ascot Day
This fundraising extravaganza is brought to you by Connector Media in association with the Wellbeing Project.
This highly anticipated fundraising event is back for it's 22nd anniversary and promises to be the charitable event of the year that everyone is talking about.
This year's event will take place on Friday 18th June 2010 at the Thistle Hotel in St Helens starting at 12.45pm and finishing at 7.00pm.
The Alternative Ascot Day is the perfect way to escape the busy working week, get dressed up, wear a hat, make new friends and have a good time!
Paula Gamester, founder of the event explains how “twenty two years ago my friends and I were heading off to Ladies Day at Royal Ascot when, sadly, we missed our train. Determined to have a good time, we ran our own 'alternative event' and gave the proceeds to charity. Since then the Alternative Ascot Day has raised thousands of pounds for local causes”.
This full day event includes:
- Drinks reception
- Live racing relayed from Ascot with lottery tickets on sale for each race with the chance to win some fantastic prizes!
- Lunch and afternoon tea
- Live entertainment from Dave Ashley as Frank Sinatra
- A Robbie Williams tribute act
- A medley of Michael Buble songs

All the money raised from this year's event will fund a local Wellbeing Project Choir.
