Check out the 'Speak Out!' Against Stigma Newspaper and Documentary Film
The Wellbeing Project is pleased to announce the launch it's brand new anti-stigma newspaper and documentary film.
THE JOURNEY from Connector Media on Vimeo.
We're undertaking a 3 year project to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination across Merseyside thanks to funding from Comic Relief.
The project aims to challenge commonly held misconceptions about people living with mental health problems - by engaging individuals in creative pursuits and ultimately showcasing their skills and talents and challenging the wider publics perceptions.
Both the newspaper and documentary film have been produced by participants attending the 'Speak Out Against Stigma!' Journalism and Visual Media courses respectively.
For the past 4 months we've been working with around 40 people who have personal experiences of mental health problems, to collate and record their insights, personal experiences and importantly showcase their skills and talents. The film and newspaper are the culmination of months of hard work and dedication by all involved..
You can download the newspaper by clicking this link. The documentary film can be viewed above.
The next stages of the 'Speak Out!' Against Stigma Campaign involve delivering a number of anti-stigma roadshows across the Merseyside area.
