NHS Sefton ‘Ignite Your Life!’ Community Resilience Events.

The Wellbeing Project is working in partnership with NHS Sefton to deliver a Community Resilience Programme across the Sefton area from October through to December 2010.

The programme is being funded by NHS Sefton as part of its year-long ‘Way to Wellbeing Campaign'.

As part of the programme the Wellbeing Project will be running several innovative community events across several locations in Sefton. The events are free of charge for residents and people working in Sefton.

These events aim to skill up local people with 'top tips' to stay strong during difficult times.

Mark Swift from the Wellbeing Project explains “Many people don’t realise that there are lots of simple, practical things we can all do to manage our stress levels and improve our mental wellbeing".

The events will include workshops focusing on:

  • Laughter & humour, and identifying our feel good factors.
  • How to improve your mental wellbeing, looking at the 5 ways to wellbeing.
  • How to tap into your creative potential.

Wellbeing Project Co-Directors Dr Laura Pogue and Paula Gamester explain how "these events provide a unique opportunity for local people to learn practical skills to stay strong, how to stay confident and how to help yourself and others feel good”.
