The focus for this year’s much anticipated event is the emerging field of Social Prescribing.

Social Prescribing links patients in primary care with non-medical sources of support within the community.

There is growing evidence and increasing consensus among health and social care professionals that psychosocial interventions - such as Social Prescribing, should form a central component of treatment options for common mental health problems.

At this accredited conference we invite delegates to consider the role that psychosocial interventions might play in the provision of timely and effective high quality care for people living with, or at risk of, mental health distress.

The conference will be held in the new prestigious conference facilities at St Helens Chamber of Commerce.

Key note speech will be delivered by Dr Lynne Friedli, Public Mental Health Expert who is renowned internationally for her contributions to this promising area of interest.

This years conference coincides with celebrations to mark World Mental Health Day 2009.
